Mumbaikar Took First Look Of Mumbai’s New Metro
Pedestrians and residents of Andheri got the 1st preview of new Mumbai Metro. The 4-coach Mumbai Metro train came in life on Tuesday and was for the very first time, taken on the very newly made elevated corridor all the way till 4 bungalows junction at a 5kmph speed on 2nd day of operational hearings.

Officials of MMRDA said that the train was being verified for its electrics and was pushed in the Versova yard on Monday by accusing it with newly-laid 25KV above grip wires. The 3 trains made by Chinese firm CSR Nanjing had been kept at Versova yard after being transferred by there. Now that the yard is almost prepared and overhead wires charged and lay, this was one of the 1st fruitful trials taken. The train, which functions on standard gauge and has longitudinal side-ways seats, was fruitfully taken up the viaduct and back from yard, an official MMRDA conveyed on anonymity condition. The 1st corridor of Mumbai Metro plying among Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar is estimated to be operational by coming year and starting trial runs will be taken. When the 183m steel bridge around 9.7km of track and driving staff are getting prepared, the operations section has now trails of trains. Majority of the stations and linking are also at a progressed level of construction. Once the line is complete, it is estimated to recover Mumbai’s east-west connectivity.
