Colaba Causeway best place for fun in Mumbai
The Colaba Causeway also known as Shahid Bhagat Singh Road which is a commercial street, and a land link which connects Colaba and the Old Woman’sIsland of Mumbai.

This area lies near to the Fort, towards the east side of Cuffe Parade. The market present here is very famous also this is situated near to the famous Gateway of India and Taj Mahal Palace & Tower.
History
At the beginning of 19th century, the area near the Fort and part of the old town got over polulated, the present area known as Colaba was declared as cantonment area in year 1796, due to which all the construction for the civilian population was banned. The travel of people by boats increased, which made to construct of the causeway.The Causeway was constructed by the East India Company, when Sir Robert Grant was serving as the as the governor of Bombay.
Overview
Now days this area is known as ‘Culture Square’. The architecture of this area still depicts the oldBombay, Some of the buildings like Regal Cinema, Prince of Wales Museum now it is known asChhatrapatiShivajiMaharajMuseum, National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) and Cusrow Baug, Cusrow Baug is a very old residential colony of parsis, this colony was established in 1934, which has around 500 families.
One can find all the retail showrooms, and small shops for cosmetics, electronic goods and music, also shops on footpath selling artifacts, shawls, carpets etc, with all this tourists come in and around this place across the year.
Food is the other thing which attracts tourist, we will have many options like restaurants and cafes and the roadside food stalls, which attracts the tourists and the locals crowed. The Famous restaurants here are Piccadilly restaurant, Delhi Darbar restaurant, MingsPalace, Cafe Churchill, Gokul and Kailash Parbat, the very well known Cafe Leopold and Cafe Mondegar are present in the same area.
