With the rains gone people welcomed humid October. The humid heat has taken a toll on people. As always people are managing to fight out this October heat. However it seems that electricity board is keen to test the nerves of people. Many places in Mumbai are facing the power cuts. The load shading has always been a big problem for Mumbai since the past 5 years. People have become immune to survive 3 hours every day without power. But this October heat has brought the Diwali gift for Mumbaikars. The gift is that many places in Mumbai are facing minimum 5 hours of power cut in a day. Even nights are not been denied. People are facing power cuts in night as well. Many people are using the candles and Diyas to lighten their house. It is like Electricity board wants them to celebrate the Diwali before time.

 power cut in mumbai

The MSEB already said that the power cuts would range 3-7 hours for urban areas while the rural would need to live with minimum 11 hours of power cut.

This Power cut has already put anger among the people of Mumbai. People from Thane city showed their anger by targeting two places of thane. The protest was also seen in Vasai as well.

Navi Mumbai which is at the out course of Mumbai is also facing power cuts. The latest in the news is that the two of the prime towns of Navi Mumbai namely Panvel and Nerul has the areas which are facing daily eight hours of power cut. This has raised the bows for the electricity management board.

The reason that is given for the cause of the problem is that there is coal shortage at the National level. Agriculture sector has also rise the power consumption.

No official is ready to comment on how long this problem could be.

One thing is for sure that the sale of inverters and generators will increase.
