MUMBAI was Meant to Form New India
The city which we live in, Mumbai is rightly known as ‘the city of dreams’. Every year thousands of people from all aroundIndiacome to Mumbai to fulfill their dreams. It is a vibrant city full of youthful and unbreakable spirit. No matter how many bomb blasts or terror attacks took place, nothing could shake us and we got back on track. Everyone here knows that life must go on and the mumbaikars surely know how to live it! Mumbai can never leave anyone upset and no matter what; there is always place for everyone. That is what real Mumbai is.

The name of our city Mumbai is derived and composed of two Marathi words- Mumbadevi and Aai, which means mother. It is one of the most densely populated cities ofIndia, whose population exceeds more than twenty million people. Mumbai is wealthiest of all the cities, where people mostly come to obtain jobs, earn money and status. There is a lot of influx in Mumbai.
Mumbai was formed when seven islands merged together. It has a total area of six hundred and three square kilometers and begins from the Konkan coast. Mumbai is one of the biggest harbours inIndia. It is bifurcated into two distinct categories of Central and Coastal or State Mumbai. Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Worli, Churchgate and Colaba constitute the central Mumbai. The coastal Mumbai is comprised by Mulund, Mahim and other small suburbs. Mumbai stretches upto Dahanu; Virar and are situated at the outskirts of the city.
There are innumerable advantages of living in such a flourished, successful and advanced city. There are many more miracles in Mumbai. Where else do you get to see a metropolitan city with a forest in it? It’s only here. Our city has the Sanjay Gandhi National Park which has a vast area of protected forest. This shows that there is a lot of love for nature even in this fast moving city. There are many beautiful places here which cannot be missed. The Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Marine drive, Gateway of India, Rajabhai tower and the Bandra-Worli sea link are only a few to name. The most beautiful and striking thing of this city is the monsoon. The heat is washed away and the entire city gets filled with a new joy and energy. Spending these monsoons with your friends and family is the best thing to do. Nothing can compensate a ‘cutting chai’ which you have with your friends on a rainy day. The spirit and energy of this city is so strong that you can feel it all around you.
The love and affection we have for our beautiful city cannot be expressed in words. Even the people who come here only for their work get attached to this place. No one is alone or lonely here. I am glad that I am here in Mumbai because I cannot imagine how different and dull everything would be if I were anywhere else.
Mumbai is a complete different city from any other cities inIndia. It is the only city inIndiawhich is cultivated with many cultures. From poor to rich, From North Indian to South Indian everyone is proud to call themselves as ‘Mumbaikars’. ‘Mumbaia’ blood runs in our blood. Once can find different types of people here from most wanted gangsters to top businessmen, top silver-screen stars to ace cricketers everyone lives in Mumbai.
